Our podcast, The DOD45 Show, was born during the challenges of the pandemic. At a time when connection felt out of reach, Tai of ArtByTai turned to Zoom drawing sessions with collectors and live streams on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to stay connected with fans and supporters. Those small but meaningful moments sparked an idea: What if we could also connect with the musicians who’ve been a profound source of inspiration for Tai’s artwork?
With live music events on pause, hip-hop artists found themselves in the same boat—unable to tour, unable to connect with their fans in the usual ways. Tai thought, "Maybe we can meet on common ground. I’ll draw, they’ll share their stories, and together, we’ll bring something special to our audiences." And just like that, The DOD45 Show came to life—a space where art and music collide, and where connections are made in the most unexpected ways.
The Magic of Meeting in Person
For a long time, every episode was recorded over Zoom. Each guest joined us remotely, sharing laughs, stories, and creative energy through a screen. But as the world began to open up and live shows returned, we started attending events and meeting these incredible guests in person for the first time.
The feeling of meeting face-to-face after having shared such intimate conversations virtually is indescribable. There’s a bond that forms during those Zoom recordings—something raw, genuine, and deeply human. To finally hug, laugh, and connect in person with these artists is nothing short of magical. It’s a moment filled with gratitude and joy, and you can see it radiating from our faces in the photos on this page.
Capturing the Joy
The images here—often selfies snapped in those first moments of meeting—are more than just photographs. They’re milestones of connection, memories of shared experiences, and tangible reminders of the incredible journey this podcast has taken us on. Some photos feature guests we’ve had the honor of recording with, while others are with people we admire and are simply fans of.
Every single one of these moments is a treasure to us. We are profoundly grateful to have had these brilliant artists as guests on The DOD45 Show and even luckier to have met so many of them in person.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Whether you’re here to relive these moments, discover new faces, or celebrate the intersection of art and music, we hope you feel the same joy we do when you see these photos.
